M.C. Dean is seeking a Network Technician 2 to join their Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. This role supports the US Air Force Education and Training Command (AETC) and involves designing, engineering, integrating, operating, and maintaining enterprise, campus, and Base Area Network (BAN) infrastructure. This includes work with switches, routers, HAIPE/bulk encryptors, wireless infrastructure, inside and outside plant cabling, racks/cabinets, pathways, and bonding/grounding. The position requires executing technical tasks in field operations of Base Area Networks across multiple locations. Responsibilities include on-site installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment and systems to ensure functionality and reliability. Key duties involve site surveys, network hardware and software configuration, system testing, and customer technical support. The role demands strong problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and effective communication with clients and team members. Additionally, the technician must adhere to safety plans, use PPE correctly, interpret drawing packages, maintain as-built documentation, manage timesheets, track and inspect tools, and participate in safety meetings. Installation of system raceway, cabling, equipment racks, enclosures, panels, and mounting hardware, along with proper grounding and NEC standards adherence, is required. Termination, testing, and configuration of network and IT equipment such as switches, routers, wireless access points, antennas, and bulk encryptors are also key duties. The role involves installing various low voltage cables, including CAT 5/6/6a STP and UTP, and Single Mode/Multi-Mode Fiber Optic (SMFO/MMFO) cabling. Rack and stack MDF head end and IDF telecom room equipment, and perform cable terminations and accessories in accordance with industry standards. Surveying and documenting existing telecommunications infrastructure using electronic devices is also part of the job. Consistent communication with MC Dean Operations Teams, dedication, punctuality, and preparedness are expected. The technician will act as a collaborative teammate, providing and receiving feedback positively. Planning and prioritizing tasks effectively, understanding the M.C. Dean vision, mission, and values is essential. Surveying and documenting existing field conditions with feedback and recommendations to the project team is also required. This position requires 24/7 on-call support.
