About The Position

This position is contingent on the award of a contract. The Network & Systems Support Engineer will serve as the primary local technical resource supporting a secure, mission-critical network and systems environment. This position will provide onsite network, systems, hardware, and infrastructure troubleshooting and support as part of an integrated technical team that includes remote network engineers, cybersecurity specialists, monitoring personnel, and program management resources. The Engineer will be responsible for responding to onsite service requirements within established response times, diagnosing and resolving infrastructure issues within the authorized scope, serving as the onsite technical resource for remote engineering and cybersecurity personnel, and coordinating with client personnel and third-party technology providers as necessary. Experience supporting airport, aviation, TSA-regulated, or other secured/regulated environments is preferred but not required. The selected individual must be able to successfully complete all required security screening, background checks, training, and credentialing necessary to obtain and maintain access to the client environment.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience supporting network and Windows-based systems environments.
  • Comfortable working independently onsite while collaborating with senior technical resources remotely.
  • TCP/IP networking and network troubleshooting.
  • Managed Ethernet switches and VLANs.
  • Windows workstations and Windows Server.
  • Firewall and network-security fundamentals.
  • Network connectivity and interface troubleshooting.
  • Physical network infrastructure and cabling.
  • Server and workstation hardware troubleshooting.
  • Firmware and software maintenance.
  • System and network logs and diagnostic tools.
  • Remote troubleshooting and collaboration with senior engineers.
  • Technical documentation and service reporting.
  • Eligible to satisfy all applicable client and Airport security and credentialing requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting airport, aviation, TSA-regulated, or other secured/regulated environments is preferred but not required.
  • Airport, aviation, TSA-regulated, critical infrastructure, government, or other secured environment experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary local resource for on-site network and systems support.
  • Respond to network, systems, hardware, and infrastructure incidents requiring physical intervention.
  • Diagnose connectivity and infrastructure issues involving switches, servers, workstations, firewalls, cabling, power supplies, interface hardware, and associated components.
  • Troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, hardware failures, and system availability issues.
  • Perform physical inspection and hands-on troubleshooting of network and systems equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with remote network engineers and cybersecurity specialists to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Serve as the onsite “hands and eyes” for remote engineering and cybersecurity personnel when physical access to systems or equipment is required.
  • Perform authorized repairs, maintenance, configuration changes, firmware/software updates, and other corrective actions.
  • Validate system and network functionality following repairs, maintenance, or approved changes.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and identify potential equipment, configuration, performance, reliability, and lifecycle concerns.
  • Provide onsite assistance during cybersecurity incidents when physical access, equipment isolation, local investigation, or implementation of approved remediation is required.
  • Assist senior cybersecurity personnel with onsite activities associated with cybersecurity assessments and technical reviews.
  • Coordinate technical activities with client personnel, internal engineering teams, and third-party technology providers.
  • Recognize issues requiring escalation to senior network, systems, cybersecurity, or third-party specialists and facilitate troubleshooting with those resources.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostics, repairs, maintenance activities, system changes, and corrective actions.
  • Support scheduled maintenance and approved after-hours or emergency work when required.
  • Maintain all required security credentials, training, and access authorizations throughout the period of performance.
