About The Position

Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for a Next Gen Network Systems Architect Engineer. The incumbent will provide senior-level systems architecture, engineering integration, and technical advisory support for next-generation transport and space communications architectures supporting SSC and SD-85 mission objectives. The selected incumbent will support enterprise modernization, SATCOM transport integration, resilient communications architectures, interoperability, and digital engineering initiatives across multiple classified and unclassified environments.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen
  • A minimum of a TS with willingness to obtain SCI eligibility at time of application required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
  • 12-15+ years of relevant DoD or National Security Space systems engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting SATCOM, transport networks, space systems, or enterprise communications architectures.
  • Experience with systems engineering lifecycle processes.
  • Familiarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), MBSE concepts, and digital engineering practices.
  • Experience supporting classified programs and cross-organizational technical integration.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance (or eligibility to obtain SCI access).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting SSC, Space Force, SDA, SpOC, or related space organizations.
  • Experience with optical transport, tactical edge networking, resilient transport, or hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps, Platform One, Cloud One, or Zero Trust implementation.
  • INCOSE certification or equivalent engineering credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Lead architecture development for resilient space transport and communications systems.
  • Analyze end-to-end transport architectures including terrestrial, airborne, and space-based networking solutions.
  • Support systems engineering activities across the lifecycle including requirements analysis, trade studies, integration, verification, and transition planning.
  • Advise Government leadership on technical risks, modernization strategies, and architectural alternatives.
  • Develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs), CONOPS, architecture products, and technical roadmaps.
  • Support MOSA, Zero Trust, cloud integration, and cybersecurity-aligned engineering approaches.
  • Conduct engineering assessments of SATCOM, tactical transport, optical communications, and hybrid network architectures.
  • Participate in design reviews, technical interchange meetings, and program management reviews.
  • Coordinate with SSC, USSF, mission partners, vendors, and integration teams.
