About The Position

Vermeer Southeast is seeking an experienced Network Systems Administrator to join our team at our Orlando location. This role is responsible for supporting and managing our IT infrastructure, leading network and systems administration initiatives, and delivering secure, scalable technology solutions. The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of experience, operates with a high level of autonomy, and partners with business leaders to help shape the future of IT across the organization.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressively responsible IT experience, including infrastructure design, implementation, and support.
  • Proficient in managing Network Infrastructure with a focus on Fortinet solutions.
  • Automation mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex technical problems and drive solutions to completion.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with IT security standards, patch management, and system hardening.

Nice To Haves

  • Fortinet NSE 4 or above
  • Cisco CCNA or Above
  • Comptia Net+/Security+

Responsibilities

  • Independently supports most company systems including Firewalls, Switches, Access Points, and Internet providers.
  • Assist in designing and leading new IT initiatives from planning through deployment and ongoing optimization.
  • Support and maintain end-user devices, Microsoft 365, Windows servers, network printers, and network equipment.
  • Support and assist as an escalation point end user systems.
  • Implement standard patching procedures, enforce policies, and assist in managing MDM and MFA systems.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across systems and applications, implementing permanent solutions rather than temporary fixes.
  • Ensure company IT SOPs, security practices, and operational procedures are consistently followed and improved, modeling after CIS and NIST standards.
  • Act as an IT liaison across departments, turning business needs into practical and secure technical solutions.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing systems to enhance performance, security, and user experience.
  • Work within a Ticketing system and maintain a minimum of 4 hours a day tracked in IT ticketing system.
  • Maintain an active status in the IT call queue to answer calls within a timely manner.
  • Monitor and respond to all IT systems and security alerts within a timely manner.
  • Continually stay up to date with the latest trends and features of existing IT systems and software and always be progressing towards a new certification.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, SOPs, and asset inventories.
  • Recommend workflow and system optimizations based on recurring issues or inefficiencies.
