About The Position

The Network Support Technician – Intermediate is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network and infrastructure environments to ensure availability, performance, and compliance with established standards. This role serves as an advanced technical resource, providing Tier 3 escalation support and contributing to network operations, troubleshooting, and modernization initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • Relevant work experience may substitute for education (one year of experience for each year of required education)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting network and infrastructure environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stoop, climb ladders, squat, push, crawl, and bend
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, configure, maintain, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, cabling, and supporting systems
  • Install, configure, maintain, and support physical servers used for network and infrastructure services, including hardware lifecycle management and redundancy validation
  • Administer virtual server environments (Hyper-V and HCI), including provisioning, maintenance, performance monitoring, and high-availability configurations
  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource to diagnose, troubleshoot, and restore degraded or down network devices and services within established response time expectations
  • Design, implement, and validate secure access controls, file server permissions, client configurations, and group-based ACLs in alignment with least-privilege and security standards
  • Monitor and resolve network-related incidents and service requests escalated from the Service Desk
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting to identify root causes of outages, performance degradation, or configuration issues
  • Document configurations, troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and procedures according to departmental standards
  • Provide timely communication to stakeholders regarding incident status, impact, and resolution
  • Install, configure, and support network infrastructure devices, including switches, wireless access points, firewalls, and related systems
  • Collaborate with server, application, and infrastructure teams to resolve cross-functional issues
  • Provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to other technicians
  • Participate in infrastructure projects such as network refreshes, wireless upgrades, server replacements, and modernization efforts
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware support, warranty services, and repairs
  • Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, installation procedures, and troubleshooting guides
  • Evaluate, test, and recommend network hardware and software solutions to improve reliability and performance
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
