About The Position

Network Support Technician - Intermediate installs, maintains, and troubleshoots network and audiovisual cabling systems. They ensure optimal performance of cabling infrastructure, support network connectivity, and handle AV setups. This role requires a strong knowledge of PC/Network communications hardware/software in a multi-protocol environment, and the use of network management software. Responsibilities include cable management, performance monitoring, hardware/software troubleshooting, and collaboration with IT teams to support connectivity needs. MUST HAVE A SECRET CLEARANCE

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in network or cabling support roles
  • Bachelor’s degree OR Technical School/associate's degree with an additional 2 years of experience
  • IAT II certification (Must meet DoD 8750 and 8140 compliance requirements)
  • CompTIA Network+ CE
  • BICSI or equivalent industry certifications
  • Requires strong knowledge of PC/Network communications hardware/software, in a multi-protocol environment, and network management software.
  • MUST HAVE A SECRET CLEARANCE

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and responds to technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
  • Interface with contractor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or period of degraded system performance.
  • Assist with installation of terminals and associated hardware.
  • Provide network server support.
