About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Engineer to join our Network and Software Deployment team in Alpharetta, Georgia. In this role, you will be the critical link between the design of our digital infrastructure and project leads and deployment teams. You will be responsible for supporting the design and initial configuration of the computing systems, servers, and network equipment that drive our industrial control environments. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation on hardware and network administration and a deep understanding of how to safely and securely deploy technology in environments where process uptime and physical safety are the highest priorities.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in network architecture and support, TCP/IP protocols, troubleshooting, security and hardware management.
  • Familiarity with industrial protocols for OT environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Technology from an accredited university is preferred.
  • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining enterprise network equipment (servers, switches, routers, firewalls).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, topologies, and security best practices.
  • Hands-on experience in configuring Enterprise grade firewalls, routers, switches (e.g. Cisco) and IT/OT infrastructure (servers, SAN, NAS, etc.)
  • Extensive knowledge of OSI layer models and experience in remotely deploying network configurations.
  • Linux server, shell/bash scripting, Ansible experience is desirable.
  • Knowledge about virtualization technologies (e.g. VMware, Proxmox, Docker) is desirable.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g. Modbus TCP/RTU, DNP3, OPC UA, MQTT) is desirable.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues efficiently in a live jobsite environment.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (SCRUM) and capturing day-to day activities in JIRA.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex system integration issues.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while managing independent tasks.
  • Familiarity with workplace safety procedures and compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy, or industrial infrastructure.
  • Experience involving industrial control systems, SCADA, and bridging IT/OT infrastructure are highly valuable.
  • Linux server administration, shell scripting, and automation.
  • Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA) and/or OT cybersecurity certifications.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Visio for network and cabinet drawing packages.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% as required by project needs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the project team on design and integration of the project specific requirements with existing functionalities: cybersecurity, network, architecture and associated devices.
  • Support the Design stage of a project and develop Network topologies, Internet requirements, IP address list and the network cabinet BOM and shop drawings according to project specifications and requirements.
  • Support and develop along with the Controls and SCADA Engineer standardized test procedures and execute tests (FAT/SAT) to reduce commissioning time, and perform testing, including involvement in hands-on lab testing during evaluations of prototype systems.
  • Install, connect, and configure networking equipment, including but not limited to servers, switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Ensure all network hardware and software are deployed according to technical specifications, project requirements, and security protocols.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of system infrastructure including hardware, protocols, communication links and cybersecurity strategies.
  • Monitor network performance and availability using appropriate tools and methodologies.
  • Diagnose and resolve connectivity issues, hardware failures, and configuration problems in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, firmware updates, and upgrades to network infrastructure.
  • Ensure all updates are tested and documented to maintain operational stability and compliance with standards.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Commissioning Engineers/Technicians, and the Controls, SCADA & Systems Deployment team to support the delivery of project milestones.
  • Provide technical support and hands-on training to on-site personnel in the use, operation, and maintenance of networking systems.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of network configurations, installation procedures, changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure documentation is current, accessible, and compliant with company requirements.
