About The Position

DESCRIPTION: The Minnesota Judicial Branch is pleased to announce a Network Specialist position that will provide support to the Fifth Judicial District in southwest Minnesota. This position will provide customer service, technical support, and administration of Judicial Branch technology systems. The primary work location for this position is the District Administration office in Mankato, Minnesota but can be adjusted based on the qualifications of the selected candidate. This position will require onsite travel to, and work at, each of the court locations in the Fifth Judicial District. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: The following are examples of major job duties expected of this position: Perform hardware, software, and workstation configuration and deployment. Provide technical support and administration of Microsoft servers and multi-site networking components. Identify, evaluate, prioritize, and resolve a wide variety of hardware, software, operational, and technical problems. Provide personalized training and documentation on the use of court applications in person, over the phone, via email, and through the ServiceNow ticketing system. Promote and exercise standardization of workstation images and equipment, software applications and versions, cyber security best practices, network configuration, printing, and naming conventions. Maintain high standards of customer service when responding to tickets, telephone calls, and emails. Provide technical support of courtroom audio/visual (AV) systems and coordinate support with AV vendors

Requirements

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in MIS/Computer Science with one year of relevant experience in IT.
  • An example of comparable experience would be a Technical School certificate in IT and three years relevant experience in IT.
  • Access to reliable transportation as occasional travel is required for this position.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and products that include Windows 10, Server 2016, SCCM/MECM, vulnerability management tools and processes, Office 365 suite, and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge in the areas of Automation, Virtualization, Exchange, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, prioritize, and resolve issues with various Video Conferencing solutions including but not limited to Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate the deployment of new technology and resolve technical problems individually or as a team participant.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable by non-technical employees.
