About The Position

As a Network Software Integration Engineer on the Starlink program, you will develop fast and versatile integrated testing infrastructure that rethinks traditional CI/CD pipelines. Our goal is to provide customers with the best possible satellite internet experience, which is enabled by SpaceX's rapid development and testing iteration cycle. You will be working to test and integrate a range of network software features that deploy worldwide to Starlink data centers and Starlink vehicles (satellites, laser terminals, ground stations, and user antennas). You will work closely with a wide variety of developers to validate and deploy cutting edge network features, through end-to-end integration environments to find issues and regression proof the Starlink network.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical and computer engineering, computer science, physics, or science discipline; OR 2+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree (internship experience is applicable).
  • Development experience in Python and/or C++.

Nice To Haves

  • Developed, debugged, and deployed software that has been used in real world applications/project.
  • Knowledgeable in containerization frameworks (Docker, K8s) and associated tooling.
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding of Linux Operating Systems and bash scripting.
  • Hands on experience with working with OSI-model layer 2 and 3.
  • Hands-on lab experience with familiarity of spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, electrical power equipment and PCBAs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop fast and reliable integrated test systems architecture for the Starlink network.
  • Work across teams to deliver dynamic and capable end-to-end testing solutions.
  • Debug software and network failures in hardware-in-the-loop test environments.
  • Identify and resolve testing coverage gaps across the network.
  • Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews.
  • Develop tools for software development and deployment, data analysis and visualization, and test execution across multiple environments, including virtualized hardware environments, real hardware-in-the-loop simulations, and on-orbit testing.
