About The Position

The Engineering job family spans multiple engineering disciplines. Work includes the design, implementation, optimization, troubleshooting, and sustainment of enterprise Wireless LAN (WLAN) solutions for HPE Aruba Networking’s portfolio. Responsibilities require broad knowledge of wireless technologies, RF design principles, networking protocols, and engineering methodologies to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance wireless solutions across customer and internal environments. This position is an onsite position in our Roseville, California office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  • 4 + years of experience in developing software for networking switches/routers.
  • Knowledge and Skills Using software systems design tools and languages.
  • Ability to apply analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Designing software systems running on multiple platform types.
  • Software systems testing methodology, including execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Campus or Data center switching knowledge a plus.
  • Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA)
  • Aruba Certified Mobility Professional (ACMP) (or in progress)
  • Entry-level or associate wireless certifications such as CWNA or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Designs enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, including operating systems, compliers, networking, utilities, databases, and Internet-related tools.
  • Analyzes design and determines coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
  • Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application; identifies and debugs and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into application architecture.
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Represents the software systems engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.
