About The Position

Empower AI is seeking a Network Services Lead to support the design, implementation, monitoring, management, change management, software upgrades, problem/incident resolution, and root cause analysis of network circuits and devices as part of a large technology refresh initiative. The Network Services Lead shall focus on implementation and coordination of wired and wireless network equipment across hundreds of sites across the globe, remotely coordinating the work. Additionally, the Network Services Lead will be responsible for coordinating vulnerability patching and remediation. This role is part of a significant task order supporting the General Services Administration (GSA) Office of Digital Infrastructure Technologies (IDT) to drive digital transformation and deliver continuous improvement. The team will leverage advanced technologies and best practices to transform GSA’s IT capabilities and shift offerings to a more flexible service delivery model, supporting the agency’s shift to a fully digital experience and adoption of emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Public Trust Clearance or the ability to obtain.
  • ITILv4 Foundation Certification within 120 days of start date.
  • Previous experience supporting and operating Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Plans and leads major technology assignments.
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • Functions as a technical expert across multiple project assignments.
  • Previous experience leading teams.
  • Operates with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems.
  • Contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.
  • Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a full and/or partial remote environment with limited supervision.
  • Possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients.
  • Maintain standard working hours per the DIGIT contract and to be available for meetings, and other collaborative efforts during working hours.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments with the ability to use practical experience and training to determine how to accomplish tasks.
  • 8-12 years of experience and bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Experience as a remote worker demonstrating time management and self discipline with cultural change management and Agile mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in configuring the following protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and Static routes.
  • Previous experience with NetScaler.
  • Familiar with SD-WAN architectures such as VMware (VeloCloud).
  • Design network architecture for Software Design Access / Software Defined Networks, utilizing Cisco DNA Center.
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA).
  • Shall possess the ability to communicate in both oral and written forms, demonstrating an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff as well as clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  • Familiarity with the following technologies: Active Directory, Windows, ServiceNow, Network Monitoring Systems (Solarwinds), Cisco Prime, LAN/WAN control protocols.
  • Proficiency in the Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Docs, Slides, Sheets), Slack, and ServiceNow.
  • Must be willing to work a variety of shifts, including holidays as scheduled.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement switch provisioning (configuration) and implementation across multiple sites, including coordinating cutover logistics and change management.
  • Establish network monitoring for newly installed and replaced equipment.
  • Support and operate Software-Defined Wide Area Networks (SD-WAN) sites.
  • Support and maintain network equipment and configuration (routers and routing).
  • Manage the LAN/WAN routing protocol between the routers and perform port management, network capacity management (including planning and trending).
  • Provision and configuring switches and routers.
  • Vulnerability patching and IOS upgrades.
  • Utilize and implement network orchestration tools and techniques to facilitate automated and consistent configurations, management, testing, deployment, and operations of physical and virtual devices within the network.
  • Manage status, errors, and inbound and outbound traffic statistics of all routing interfaces, bandwidth utilization, and errors of all inbound and outbound LAN/WAN circuits.
  • Actively involved with third parties engaged in to ensure acceptable quality of service delivery and, prevent information security incidents.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and client personnel at all levels.
  • Produce knowledge base articles and SOPs.
  • Assist COOP/DR exercises, projects and tasks as required.
  • Participating in meetings with executives to discuss technical issues and propose solutions.
  • Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to design new features or improve existing ones.
  • Escalate issues to vendor and third-party entities, as necessary and directed by the Government.
  • Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues and conflicts.
  • Prepares complete documentation of methods, procedures, and design.
  • Supervises revisions and changes.
  • Manage a team of 10+ Network Engineers across different disciplines.
