About The Position

Applied Research Solutions is seeking candidates for a Network Services Journeyman with a Top-Secret Clearance. This role will support the Aerial Networks Division (AFLCMC/HNA). The primary mission is to acquire, field, and sustain networks, integrated information systems, enterprise services, and applications to support the Global Information Grid (GIG) capabilities. These systems facilitate communication between land, naval, air, and space warfare forces. The Division develops capabilities for voice, video, and data networks focused on joint and coalition warfighter needs to enable worldwide net-centric operations. This effort includes developing technical strategies (tactical and strategic) to ensure near- and long-term integration with the DoD C3I infrastructure (space and terrestrial). There are currently over 20 programs and projects, at stages ranging from early development to entering sustainment, with values ranging from under $1 million to over $1 billion.

Requirements

• 3+ years' experience in a network engineering position.
• Thorough knowledge of routers, switches, and firewalls
• Must be able to use/configure/troubleshoot/operate Cisco, Juniper, Brocade and/or HP network devices.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology
• Must be a US citizen
• Active Top Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

• Support work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats.
• Analyzing and recommending network requirements.
• Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure.
• Analyzing network workload.
• Monitoring network capacity and performance.
• Diagnosing and resolving network problems.
• Recommending network backup and recovery procedures.
• Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.
• Other duties as assigned
