About The Position

We're partnering with a well-established organization seeking a Network Security Specialist to take ownership of enterprise security across network infrastructure, cloud environments, systems, and retail locations. This is a highly impactful role where you'll play a key part in safeguarding business operations, improving cybersecurity resilience, and driving security best practices across the organization. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic security initiatives and hands-on technical work. You'll be involved in everything from threat detection and incident response to vulnerability management, network hardening, cloud security, and infrastructure protection.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in network security, cybersecurity operations, infrastructure security, or systems security roles
  • Strong hands-on experience securing enterprise network environments
  • Deep knowledge of Linux administration from a security perspective (CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar)
  • Experience securing Azure cloud environments, including identity and access management
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes security, particularly Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTPS, SMTP, LDAPS, VPNs, VLANs, and firewall technologies
  • Experience administering enterprise network equipment such as Cisco Meraki, Unifi, or similar platforms
  • Experience with vulnerability management, endpoint protection, infrastructure monitoring, and security remediation
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, access control, system hardening, and threat mitigation practices
  • Experience securing web infrastructure, including Apache, Nginx, SSL/TLS certificates, and web application security
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of email security and Microsoft Exchange administration
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting, or similar technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and incident response capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams

Nice To Haves

  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, CEH, AZ-500, or equivalent
  • Experience supporting multi-site enterprise environments
  • Experience within retail, distribution, or highly distributed infrastructure environments
  • Exposure to compliance frameworks and security audits

Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise systems, network traffic, cloud infrastructure, and endpoints for threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activity
  • Lead cybersecurity incident investigations, containment, remediation, and recovery efforts
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventative measures following security incidents
  • Develop and enhance incident response procedures, escalation processes, and security controls
  • Secure and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, routers, VPNs, VLANs, wireless networks, and internet-facing services
  • Manage firewall policies, network segmentation, IDS/IPS solutions, secure remote access, and access controls
  • Configure and maintain security controls across corporate offices, cloud environments, and retail locations
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, security audits, and remediation planning
  • Implement infrastructure hardening and security best practices across servers, databases, cloud workloads, and network devices
  • Manage system patching, firmware updates, certificate renewals, and security configuration baselines
  • Support identity and access management initiatives, including MFA and least-privilege access models
  • Ensure the security of Linux-based environments, virtualization platforms, and cloud-hosted infrastructure
  • Monitor and secure enterprise email systems, DNS services, web servers, authentication services, and certificates
  • Support backup validation, disaster recovery planning, ransomware prevention, and business continuity initiatives
  • Participate in security reviews, compliance activities, audits, and cybersecurity assessments
  • Maintain technical documentation, security standards, incident logs, and operational procedures
  • Recommend and implement improvements to strengthen the organization's overall security posture
