About The Position

Mosaic is seeking a Network & Security Specialist to work out of our Nanaimo, BC office. Reporting to the Manager, Infrastructure, Hosting and Cloud Services, the Network & Security Specialist plays a key role in protecting and strengthening Mosaic's technology environment. Working as part of the BIS Infrastructure team, the Network & Security Specialist supports and continuously improves the organization's cybersecurity posture, network infrastructure, and technology resiliency. The Network & Security Specialist provides technical expertise & support in cybersecurity, risk management, network communications, business continuity, and IT infrastructure while working closely with business stakeholders, technology vendors, and Infrastructure team members to ensure technology services are delivered securely, reliably, and in alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering Next-Gen Firewalls, enterprise networks and cybersecurity solutions in a hybrid infrastructure environment.
  • In-depth Experience with Microsoft 365 Tenants, and cybersecurity technologies including vulnerability management, identity and access management, endpoint protection, security monitoring, and incident response.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity concepts and technologies.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, adapt to changing business needs, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid class 5 Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting enterprise networking and information security in a multi site environment.
  • Project lead experience with infrastructure, networking, or cybersecurity projects.
  • Systems Administration experience.
  • CISSP/CCSP, CISM, CCNA/CCNP, Palo Alto, Microsoft, or other relevant industry certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting and advancing cybersecurity operations through the administration and continuous improvement of security controls across infrastructure, cloud services, networks, endpoints, and business applications.
  • Supporting and advancing network infrastructure through the administration and continuous improvement of enterprise networking and communication services, including firewalls, routing, switching, wireless, VPN, cloud networking, and remote access technologies.
  • Supporting and advancing backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity technologies and processes.
  • Supporting and advancing Microsoft 365, Azure, identity services, endpoint management platforms, and other infrastructure technologies.
  • Supporting and advancing security assessments, audit requirements, compliance initiatives, cyber insurance requirements, and cybersecurity improvement projects.
  • Supporting and advancing technical documentation, standards, procedures, education, and training materials.
  • Providing technical support and operational coverage across Infrastructure including Systems Administrator and Technical Analyst functions as required.
  • Providing after-hours and emergency response activities as required.
