Day to day as a Network Security II (Boundary) As a Network Security II (Boundary) professional at Gray Link Technologies LLC, you will play a vital role in safeguarding Air Force networks by monitoring, operating, and maintaining enterprise boundary security systems. Your daily responsibilities will include configuring and troubleshooting firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and web proxy appliances. You’ll analyze traffic and security events, utilizing your expertise in log correlation to identify potential threats, data loss, or anomalous behavior. Supporting defensive cyberspace operations (DCO), you will perform in-depth assessments of boundary protection systems in both virtual and physical lab environments while responding to incidents and system changes. Additionally, your role will encompass monitoring bandwidth and system health, executing automation scripts to enhance operational efficiency, and meticulously documenting all work related to incidents or change requests. Collaboration with government team leads will ensure secure, compliant, and reliable boundary operations, allowing you to thrive in a mission-critical environment.

Requirements

  • Strong foundation in enterprise boundary protection and network security operations
  • Proficiency in firewall administration and IDS/IPS configuration and monitoring
  • Proficiency with Palo Alto Networks firewalls and web proxy security appliances
  • Robust understanding of defensive cyberspace operations (DCO) and DODIN operations
  • Skills in threat detection and log correlation
  • Adeptness in boundary security analytics and WAN traffic inspection
  • Experience in network troubleshooting
  • Experience in virtual lab environments and physical lab testing
  • Familiarity with automation scripting
  • Familiarity with incident and change documentation
  • Familiarity with compliance with DoD cybersecurity environments and AFNet security standards
  • Maintaining Secret clearance
  • Adhering to cable management standards
  • Hands-on experience installing, configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancers, and web proxy security appliances
  • Experience performing boundary security analytics, alert correlation, and threat detection to protect enterprise networks
  • Familiarity with Defensive Cyberspace Operations (DCO) and DODIN operations in accordance with DoD and AFNet security standards
  • Experience analyzing and validating network traffic in virtual and physical lab environments
  • Ability to monitor system utilization, circuit bandwidth, and network health and report anomalies
  • Experience executing or supporting automation scripts to improve operational efficiency
  • Strong documentation skills, including incident, change, and audit support documentation
  • DoD 8140 IAT Level II compliance (CompTIA Security+ CE or approved equivalent)
  • Active Palo Alto Networks certification
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance
  • Ability to work 100% onsite at Maxwell-Gunter AFB (no remote or hybrid work)
