About The Position

Our client is a global financial services firm located in Jersey City. They are seeking a VP Network Security Engineer to join the team. This is a seasoned, technical VP-level candidate role within the NJ Network Security Platform Architecture team. The position is responsible for the architecture, design, testing, and certification of new products, as well as the sustained engineering of existing products critical to the firm's business. The role involves partnering with the Network Software Engineering team to enhance operating efficiencies through automation and reduce manual tasks. Additionally, the engineer will provide technical guidance to clients on platforms and offerings, including Technology Risk, Site Reliability Engineering, and application developers. Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies is crucial for the constant evolution of designs to proactively address new threats. Support for client expansion into public cloud implementations is also a key responsibility, along with securing the network perimeter and engineering new solutions to ensure network integrity.

Requirements

• Analytical mindset, creativity and commercial focus to deliver optimal solutions for the business
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong client orientation and business interaction skills
• Ability to author and maintain technical documentation
• 8-10 years' experience working in an enterprise network environment
• Extensive experience with engineering and deployment of firewall, IDS/IPS, proxy and other network security platforms, including product testing and certification
• Ability to troubleshoot application outages and performance issues
• Basic understanding of routing and switching protocols and products
• Understanding of DDOS protection mechanisms
• Understanding of perimeter and DMZ environments and the interactions of their subcomponents
