About The Position

Omitron is seeking a Network/Security Engineer (Mid-Level) to support the US Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This highly qualified and self-motivated individual will design, implement, and sustain the high-availability transport systems that empower the warfighter. Day-to-day responsibilities include installing and administering routers, switches, and firewalls; developing network security guidelines; and collaborating within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, system administrators, developers, and testers. This is an exciting opportunity to support the future of U.S. space operations while applying advanced networking knowledge in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility to start; must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI
  • Education: Master’s degree in a STEM-related discipline (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering) and 5+ years of relevant experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of relevant experience; OR 9+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Certifications: DoD 8140.03 Foundational Qualification (IAT Level II minimum) JNCIS or CCNP
  • Technical Skills: Networking: Routing-instances, BGP, OSFP/IS-IS, LDP, RSVP, SR-MPLS, Traffic Engineering, IPv6 Security: Palo Alto Panorama, App-ID, Suite-B and Type-1 encryption

Nice To Haves

  • JNCIP-SP, CCNP Service Provider, or PCNSE
  • Direct experience engineering AWS Direct Connect and Azure ExpressRoute circuits
  • Experience with DISA or telecom provider interface
  • Direct experience deploying and maintaining SRv6 networks
  • CSfC design and implementation

Responsibilities

  • Design, test, configure, and maintain mission-critical network infrastructure within a Juniper Segment Routed (SR-MPLS) environment.
  • Manage Palo Alto NGFWs via Panorama, enforcing micro-segmentation and Zero-Trust standards.
  • Deploy and sustain Type-1 EDE and HAIPE devices to secure data across untrusted domains and cloud on-ramps.
  • Manage transit routing between on-prem and cloud native routing components (AWS Transit Gateway, Azure Router Server).
  • Utilize enterprise system monitoring and management tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, Juniper Active Assurance, and NetScout nGeniusONE) to ensure end-to-end visibility and performance.
