About The Position

A public-sector transportation agency is seeking a Network Security Analyst I to support cloud vulnerability management, security remediation, and compliance initiatives. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and remediating security vulnerabilities across cloud infrastructure and platform services to reduce enterprise risk, maintain compliance, and improve overall cloud security posture. The selected candidate will work closely with cloud operations, security, application, architecture, and risk teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed within established service-level agreements and according to change management procedures.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional IT experience with hands-on exposure to: Cloud infrastructure, System administration, Vulnerability remediation
  • 3+ years supporting cloud-hosted systems in an enterprise cloud environment
  • Understanding of: Vulnerability remediation methodologies, Security patching, Configuration hardening, Compensating controls
  • Experience working with IT service management and change management processes
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills
  • Ability to follow established security and remediation procedures
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork abilities

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise vulnerability management programs
  • Familiarity with remediation SLAs and compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of: Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Security baselines, Risk reporting
  • Relevant cloud or cybersecurity certifications

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze vulnerability findings identified through approved security scanning and assessment tools
  • Assess vulnerability applicability and risk impact across cloud infrastructure, platform services, and supporting components
  • Execute remediation activities including: Security patching, Configuration updates, System hardening, Implementation of compensating controls
  • Validate remediation efforts and verify successful vulnerability closure
  • Perform cloud-based patching and update activities using approved operational procedures
  • Implement security configuration changes when vendor patches are unavailable
  • Create and maintain remediation records, change requests, and audit documentation
  • Ensure compliance with change management and approval processes
  • Provide remediation status updates and supporting evidence for audits and security reporting
  • Support temporary mitigation strategies when permanent fixes are not immediately available
  • Collaborate with security, cloud architecture, operations, and application teams to resolve complex vulnerabilities
  • Identify recurring issues, process gaps, and remediation blockers
  • Recommend improvements that strengthen cloud security and reduce technical debt
