About The Position

Segra is seeking a qualified and experienced Network Power Engineer to join our Network Power and Infrastructure (NPI) team. This team analyzes the company’s existing configuration, defines standards for new deployments, and initiates augmentation for power, rack space, and CFA’s. The role involves daily reviews of proposed network equipment installations at POP’s and colocations to minimize risks associated with power and to maximize the capabilities of the power system. The NPI team collaborates with Network Design Engineering, Network Planning, Project Engineering, Project Management, and Network Operations teams to communicate best practices and provide support for power planning and equipment spacing.

Requirements

Technical/Engineering College Degree and/or equivalent work experience.
Minimum of 5 years telecommunication and/or power engineering experience.
Experience specifying DC power plant components including rectifiers, batteries, and power cabling.
Ability to leverage power infrastructure with established best power practices in a way that mitigates risk to the equipment, network, facilities, and personnel while minimizing cost.

Responsibilities

Analyze the company’s existing configuration.

Minimize risks caused by overloading feeds and under powering equipment.
Maximize the capabilities of the power system in place at each location.
