About The Position

Takeda Pharmaceuticals USA, Inc. is seeking a Network Platform Architect to lead the formulation of PEP (Patient Engagement Platform) related IT Strategy, with a strong focus on Takeda's digital innovation goals by maturing patient engagement capabilities. The role involves driving PEP adoption while maintaining design authority to align use cases and regional concerns to an optimized, reusable platform. The architect will lead and influence the development and maintenance of reference architecture, design, engineering, blueprints, standards, and product management. This position directs efforts to plan all activities associated with the implementation and maintenance of network and security platforms, and directs the effort of staff engineers/developers on requirements, analysis, design, development, and implementation of platforms and their components. The role also directs the development and configuration with project teams to deliver platforms from conceptualization through stabilization, covering configuration, testing, debugging, and documentation, while ensuring proper integration and on-time, on-budget delivery. Responsibilities include implementing and supporting network equipment such as routers, switches, SD-WAN devices, and firewalls, with expertise in Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto networks technologies. The architect will provide hands-on management of networks and troubleshoot any issues that arise, analyze network traffic and performance to determine and implement lifecycle-related improvements, and lead IT engineering and operations teams to solve problems in the overall PEP environment, specific to business use cases. The role requires reporting on the state and direction of Takeda PEP environments to technology and business leaders, and bringing all global instances of the patient experience platform under a common management and operations framework while supporting the needs and differences of agile product teams. Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required for physical implementation of network and security devices at remote locations. Up to 75% remote work is allowed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, plus 5 years of related work experience.
  • Prior experience must include: prepare and review high-level designs (HLDs), low-level designs (LLDs) for network architectures.
  • Plan, design and implement network and security architecture in on-premises environments.
  • Lead network infrastructure upgrades and migrations projects.
  • Analyze and diagnose network issues, services outages.
  • Hands-on experience in the designing, implementation and troubleshooting of; Fortinet SD-WAN, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, Palo Alto firewalls, Palo Alto Panorama, Cisco Routers and Switches, routing protocols BGP, OSPF and Application-aware Routing, VPNs, F5 Big-IP.
