About The Position

The Network Planner is responsible for daily planning and assignment of customer loads to the dispatch team. This role involves approving or declining CSR submissions for same day and next day customer load offers, and developing driver routes based on customer pickup and delivery schedules. The planner will manage fleet requests for production, maintenance, and home time, and continually review inbound/outbound freight, empty/committed truck statuses, and trailer availability to maximize asset utilization. Additionally, the role includes allocating trailers to customers and geographic areas, managing the day-to-day utilization of drop yards and terminals, and coordinating with various departments and drivers to ensure maximum productivity, customer service, and driver satisfaction. The Network Planner will also plan and implement processes to improve routing and equipment utilization performance.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide effective planning to maximize service and financial performance
  • Knowledge of national, regional and metropolitan geography and roadways
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations including hours of services rules with ability to incorporate rules into daily shipment planning
  • Ability to communicate with internal and external customers and business partners in a professional and respectful manner
  • Provide detailed instruction to various personnel via email and phone
  • Ability to develop relations with Fleet Managers, drivers, management and internal and external business partners
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite required
  • Ability to read, write and speak English fluently
