About The Position

CACI’s Enterprise IT (EIT) Sector is seeking a Network Operations Technician to support an Air Force Modernization program. As a Network Operations Technician you will play a critical role responsible for providing network support to both classified and unclassified Air Force base area networks. This position requires an understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and security measures to ensure the seamless operation of network systems. The technician will work closely with Communications Squadron support staff, network engineers, and other IT professionals to resolve complex network issues and maintain the integrity and security of the network environment.

Requirements

  • University Degree (BA/BS) or equivalent experience and 5+ years of related work experience.
  • High School diploma or associate degree with 7+ years’ experience in DoD supporting large, complex networks.
  • Direct O&M experience of Air Force Base Area Networks
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Baseline Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE or CCNA-SEC); CCNP or CCDP or equivalent
  • Must currently hold U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing telecommunications and/or data center projects.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and security using various monitoring tools.
  • Perform routine maintenance and updates to network hardware and software.
  • Identify and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Provide advanced technical support for network-related issues
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex network problems, including connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and security breaches.
  • Develop and implement solutions to resolve network incidents and improve overall network performance.
  • Ensure all network operations comply with Air Force security policies and procedures.
  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect classified and unclassified data.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
  • Prepare and present reports on network performance, issues, and improvements to management.
  • Work closely with support staff, network engineers, and other IT personnel to ensure effective network operations.
  • Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Stay current with the latest network technologies, protocols, and security practices.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
