About The Position
PEAKE is seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Network Infrastructure Installation Technician III to join their team. This role supports a 10-month DoW contract with potential for extension. Requirements
- Active DoW Secret clearance
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Directly related experience (cabling, construction trades).
- Proven experience as a fiber optic specialist
- Must be able to work safely following the company's policy/procedures on safety.
- Conduct network configuration and be able to perform network troubleshooting.
- Previous duties as team lead
- Must be capable of physical activity, including maneuvering around the building, including comms closets, prolonged standing, repetitive bending, climbing, and lifting of 50lbs +.
Nice To Haves
- Security+ preferred but not required
- BICSI Installer/Technician certification a plus.
- Applicable software or hardware training and certifications commensurate with the technical objectives, services required, and IT environment are a plus.
Responsibilities
- CAT 6 and Fiber Optic structured cable distribution system installation.
- Terminate all forms of Ethernet and fiber by various methods, familiarity with connector types and manufacturers, experience testing single-mode and multi-mode fiber installations, experience with Fluke and OTDR testing and fiber optic troubleshooting, pulling cable, fire stopping, dressing cables, and labeling to industry standards.
- Fiber Characterization testing and resolution.
- Install, terminate, and test all forms of copper and fiber cabling.
- Install closet hardware, including backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels, and fiber enclosures.
- Attend training and safety meetings, and work safely at all times.
- Familiarity with DISA installation procedures and operational guidelines (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, Centrix).
