About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Network Infrastructure Engineer to join our team. This role involves evaluating, designing, and implementing network infrastructure with a focus on OSI Layer 2 and 3 protocols. You will be responsible for configuring and managing network devices, implementing security measures, troubleshooting issues, monitoring performance, and maintaining documentation. The position requires collaboration with IT teams, planning and executing upgrades, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. This is a hybrid role with flexibility, located in Albuquerque, NM, and includes travel requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with networking equipment and related technologies.
  • Extensive experience in multi-vendor firewall configuration, with Palo Alto experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing multi-vendor switches and wireless solutions, with a preference for HPE, Aruba, and Cisco technologies.
  • Strong working knowledge of IPv4, VLANs, routing protocols, NAT, VPNs, and other related network technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues effectively.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, design, and implement network infrastructure with a focus on OSI Layer 2 and 3 protocols, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Configure and manage switches, wireless access points, and routers to maintain efficient data flow across the network.
  • Implement and maintain security measures such as VLANs, ACLs, and firewall rules to protect network integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and optimize network traffic for efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, IP subnets, changes, and procedures for easy reference and compliance.
  • Work closely with IT teams to integrate network solutions with other systems and applications, fostering a cohesive technological environment.
  • Plan and execute network upgrades and patches, ensuring the latest features and security updates are applied.
  • Ensure network infrastructure meets industry standards and complies with relevant regulatory requirements.
