Under the general supervision of the Senior Director of Infrastructure Services, the Network Engineering Lead serves as a key technical resource for network infrastructure operations, project delivery, network performance, security initiatives, architecture standards, resiliency planning, vendor engagement, and CSU systemwide collaboration while supporting a highly available, secure, and scalable campus network environment. This role provides technical leadership and oversight for Network Engineering staff, projects, reports, metrics, and team performance. The lead will also provide technical leadership for the Network Engineering and telecom teams in monitoring, analysis, and continuous improvement of the campus data network, supporting tens of thousands of ports across a distributed campus environment. They will oversee network telemetry, performance monitoring, alerting, and operational analytics to ensure high availability and service reliability. Additionally, under the direction of management, the lead is responsible for the campus network security posture in collaboration with the Information Security Officer (ISO) and security team, and leads the development and operationalization of network-related resiliency strategies.
