The Network Engineering Internship supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will: Assist Network Engineers with the following tasks: Manage network devices to include account access, ensuring network availability, daily maintenance and sustainment activities, and properly deploying new capabilities as required. Troubleshoot basic Network issues. This may include but is not limited to password resets, connectivity issues, and system outages. Maintenance of back up and storage systems. This includes performing routine maintenance, backups, and testing system recovery capabilities of network devices. Patching and updating systems to maintain a compliant security posture within the MDSEA environment. Management and sustainment of virtualized machines and servers. Information Relay and Communication: Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing. Relay information between end-users, MDSEA support teams (i.e. Networks, System Engineers, Cyber. Etc.), and other relevant parties. Both verbally and in writing. Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for Network Engineer tasks to build continuity for future admins. Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor in all interactions, including phone conversations and in-person assistance.
