About The Position

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members in the Point Loma area of San Diego. Will provide direct support to the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Pacific working on the United States Marine Corps (USMC) Networking on the Move (NOTM) program. Support will include conducting network planning, installation and configuration of networked systems to include routing and switching hardware devices and protocols. Establishing, troubleshooting and maintaining both local area (LAN) and wide area (WAN) tactical network connectivity for multiple security enclaves. Establishing both fixed satellite communications earth terminals as well as enabling fully mobile vehicular based satellite systems. Providing assistance to military personnel in the resolution of complex networking, communications and systems issues. Performing testing and evaluation of new equipment and systems for possible inclusion into the NOTM program. Devising and conducting testing of Quality of Service (QoS) strategies to improve system performance over tactical data links. Assisting in the development and testing of prototype tactical vehicles.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Secret clearance.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification required.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification required.
  • Experience with NSA Type 1 encryption equipment required.
  • Technical writing skills required.
  • Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex, technical problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field or five to nine years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Marine Corps tactical IP-based networks, Wide Area Networks (WANs) and Local Area Networks (LANs) preferred.
  • Experience with Marine Corps satellite systems, to include very small aperture terminals (VSAT) and vehicular based systems desirable.
  • Knowledge of tactical meshing radio systems, to include commercial based and military products desirable.
  • Cisco Software Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN) experience desirable.
