About The Position

Our enterprise-level client is seeking to add a Network Engineer in Winter Garden, FL. This role is responsible for the technical success of network services within the environment. This includes contributing to the development of the Network Operations Strategy and supporting organizational strategies, ensuring alignment with peer organizations' strategic plans. The engineer will also ensure new network services are designed for business availability and validate final service designs for operational needs. Collaboration with service providers to ensure quality in contracted services and contribution to evolving operational procedures are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' progressive data communications experience in WAN/MAN/LAN/Data Center operational support, configuration, evaluation, incident resolution, problem management, and project management experience in a 24x7x365 support environment.
  • 3+ years' experience in day-to-day support of enterprise-scale, complex network environments.
  • Working knowledge of load-balancers and other network technologies.
  • Knowledge of and experience with major routing protocols like RIP, IGRP, EIGRP, BGP, RMTP, OSPF, etc.
  • Familiarity with the capabilities and problems of a broad spectrum of hardware and transmission technologies (e.g., cabling, optical fiber, WAN and transport, routing, firewalls, LAN/VLANs switches, SDN, etc.).
  • Ability to understand fairly complex network infrastructure quickly during major incidents.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at a variety of levels.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Good understanding of how IT technology supports the Enterprise and the Business Segments.
  • Ability to communicate and multi-task under pressure.
  • Must be able to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of at least 1 professional level certification from a major technology supplier (CCNP, F5-CTS LTM, etc.).
  • 1+ years' experience in the utilization of data communications test equipment and network management systems (e.g., sniffers, Wireshark, OPNET, NetScout, ReliaTel, NAGIOS, and software based management systems such as OpenView, SevOne, Smarts, Riverbed CMC, NetBrain, NetCool, etc.) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of the Network Operations Strategy and supporting organizational strategies.
  • Contribute to the strategies of peer organizations ensuring alignment with Network Operations and/or Strategy and Architecture.
  • Design new network services to deliver required levels of availability and validate final service designs.
  • Work with service providers to ensure proper technical acumen and quality in contracted services.
  • Examine and document existing processes, evaluating them for availability and maintainability of Network Services.
  • Provide technical leadership during major incidents.
  • Communicate intricate technical and procedural matters to both technical and non-technical personnel.
