About The Position

TIAG is now hiring a Network Engineer to support the Office of Naval Research, full time out of Arlington, VA. This is a position that is 100% onsite (5 days/week at the ONR in Arlington). This position requires a Secret clearance to be able to start work. US or Naturalized Citizenship are a requirement for eligibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing, maintaining and supporting technical infrastructure, hardware, and system software components for mid- to large-sized projects
  • Experience determining and developing approach to solutions.
  • Experience performing installation, maintenance, and support of system software/hardware and providing user support
  • Experience identifying key barriers/core problems and applying problem solving skills in order to deal with complex situations
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex problems.
  • Experience making decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results
  • Experience performing engineering and roll out implementation, configuration, debugging and support for multiple platforms
  • Experience monitoring and tuning platforms to ensure expected availability and performance levels are achieved
  • Hands-on experience designing and supporting AWS environment and utilizing AWS administrator portal
  • Experience in AWS services and technologies such as IAM, VPC, S3, EC2, CloudWatch and CloudTrail, Route 53, RDS, SSM, ElasticSearch and Lambda
  • Secret clearance to be able to start work
  • US or Naturalized Citizenship

Responsibilities

  • LAN infrastructure support: Staging, Installation and Maintaining Cisco Nexus and Catalyst switches, as well as Aruba wireless controllers.
  • Familiar with network connectivity to include copper, fiber optics, and wireless
  • WAN support: Providing support for Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) neighbor configurations.
  • Cloud architecture support: for AWS services (IAM, VPC, S3, EC2, etc.) to support operational network architectures.
  • Security policy configuration: Managing security features on Palo Alto firewalls, including App-ID, User-ID, Global Protect, Wildfire, NAT policies, and security profiles.
  • Authentication and access management: Configuring and managing Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) architecture using Radius for Cisco, Aruba, and Palo Alto platforms.
  • Configuration of PKI authentication and PKI Certificate Managements
  • Network troubleshooting: Troubleshooting issues related to TCP/UDP, IPv4/IPv6 subnetting, access lists, and connectivity on Cisco and Palo Alto devices.
  • Performance monitoring: Using tools like SolarWinds to monitor network performance and test network capabilities.
  • Experience on Cisco data center deployment to include Cisco Nexus.
  • Familiar with network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, TFTP, SCP/SSH
  • Documentation and compliance: Creating and maintaining detailed network documentation and adhering to yearly Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) policies.
  • Hardware and software upgrades: Implementing new network equipment and software upgrades.
  • Asset management: Practicing network asset management by keeping an inventory of network components and related documentation.
  • Ticket resolution: Handling and resolving support tickets using the ServiceNow platform.
