About The Position

IT Veterans is seeking a Network Engineer to support multiple government programs focused on the fielding and sustainment of Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) networks. This position will support Department of Defense customers, including the Marine Corps and Navy, by assisting with the planning, design, implementation, sustainment, and troubleshooting of secure network environments. The ideal candidate will be a motivated technical professional with strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience supporting complex DoD network infrastructures in both US Marine Corps garrison and tactical environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field from an accredited university.
  • Active CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Experience supporting US Marine Corps garrison and tactical networks.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Camp Lejeune, NC area.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of experience supporting network architectures and network security appliances.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Hands-on experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience performing DoD hardening activities using STIGs and SCAP tools.
  • Experience with network analysis, monitoring, and performance optimization tools.
  • Experience supporting Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Aruba, and Cisco ISE technologies.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CCDA, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of DoD experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with Commercial Solutions for Classified (CSfC) environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering and sustainment support for classified and unclassified network environments.
  • Support the planning, design, development, implementation, and optimization of multi-platform networks.
  • Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network infrastructure components.
  • Provide on-call and touch labor support for network sustainment activities.
  • Assist with network performance analysis, monitoring, and capacity planning.
  • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPN gateways, and other network appliances.
  • Support system hardening efforts utilizing DoD STIGs and SCAP scanning tools.
  • Collaborate with technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Program Managers, and government stakeholders.
  • Support both CONUS and OCONUS mission requirements as needed.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation and provide status updates to leadership.
