The Technical Operations Center (TOC) is a new team and in the process of being built. This is an opportunity to join the team on the ground level and contribute to its build out. Summary Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of a large-scale enterprise networks as a part of the Technology Operations Center (TOC). Network Engineer will support network incident management and troubleshooting specifically along with the Major Incident Management process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required in networking, computer science, information systems, or related technology field. Associate's degree with two years of equivalent work experience may be substituted for education.
  • Three years experience or advanced certifications in networking.
  • Advanced knowledge of network routing and switching hardware, as well as network security equipment and best practices.
  • Must have good communication skills both written a verbal.

  • When applicable, may need a valid driver's license. If valid driver's license is required, must maintain a good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Cisco certifications a plus.
  • Network certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support network incident management and troubleshooting specifically along with the Major Incident Management process.
  • Support multiple routing and switching protocols.
  • Provide guidance to the technical support teams engaged in implementation and troubleshooting of hardware and software that support a wide range of systems.
  • Proficient in the use of network management platforms and troubleshooting tools, such as protocol analyzers.
  • Attends training, conferences, and seminars as needed to obtain specific hardware/software knowledge.
  • Understands a systems approach to problem solving and process improvement involving staff.
  • Ability to plan, architect, and document enterprise class solutions for future network growth.
  • Possess a fundamental working knowledge of operating systems and software currently used throughout Sanford Health.
