About The Position

This position requires an active U.S. national security clearance. The Network Engineer will support the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of network environments. This role involves working alongside U.S. Government network engineers, Cyber/IA teams, and technical staff to assist with network setup, implementation, and troubleshooting. The engineer will help maintain and support Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs), troubleshoot network connectivity, hardware, and software issues, and assist with identifying root causes and restoring services. Responsibilities include participating in lab/sandbox environments to test and configure Cisco networking technologies, assisting with implementing network solutions and infrastructure upgrades, and supporting security initiatives by helping deploy and maintain network security and monitoring tools. The role also involves contributing to troubleshooting and supporting Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) network environments, documenting network configurations, procedures, and technical changes, and collaborating with engineers, technicians, and IT staff to support project and operational objectives.

Requirements

  • Currently holds an active U.S. national security clearance or be able to receive and maintain one.
  • 3+ years of networking, IT infrastructure, or related technical experience.
  • Working knowledge of Cisco networking devices including switches, routers, and firewalls.
  • Familiarity with installing, configuring, and supporting network environments using Cisco technologies.
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, routing, and switching concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot network hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Experience creating or updating technical documentation, diagrams, or operational procedures.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, or VPN technologies is a plus.
  • Experience using or exposure to network monitoring, testing, or diagnostic tools (e.g., Spirent, T-Berd, SolarWinds, Wireshark, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA preferred; CCNP or security certifications are a plus.
  • Exposure to network security concepts, including firewalls, access controls, or intrusion prevention technologies.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity monitoring tools such as Splunk, Security Onion, or similar platforms.
  • Basic understanding of network security technologies including IPSEC and 802.1X.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, or virtual networking concepts.
  • Interest in professional growth, cross-functional collaboration, and developing project coordination skills.
