Headquartered in Sparta, Illinois, Complete Technology Solutions is seeking individuals that are passionate about technology to join our client-focused and collaborative team. Standard work hours are typically Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm, with paid overtime included as needed. At CTS, a New Charter Company, we are seeking an Network Engineer in Sparta, IL (in other companies this person could hold the title of Senior Network Infrastructure Engineer, Client Network Systems Engineer, Network Engineer Infrastructure) to design, implement, and support secure client network environments across multiple organizations. For local candidates, this is an onsite position based in Sparta, IL. with hybrid flexibility is available. In this role, you will work directly with client stakeholders and internal system engineers to configure and maintain firewalls, switching, and wireless infrastructure using platforms such as WatchGuard, UniFi, and HP Aruba InstantOn while supporting project deployments and escalated network issues. To be successful in this role, you manage routing, VLANs, VPNs, DHCP, and DNS across multi-site environments while maintaining documentation, performing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with security and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and compliant network operations. Requirements

  • Strong experience managing VLANs and firewall policies, preferably with WatchGuard and UniFi networking environments
  • Hands-on experience configuring and supporting WatchGuard firewalls, with familiarity in comparable platforms such as Cisco Meraki or SonicWall considered a plus
  • Experience administering Windows Server environments and Active Directory, including user, group, and policy management
  • Experience working within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, supporting multiple client infrastructures

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing wireless networking environments , including wireless access points and point-to-point links, with the ability to optimize performance by adjusting power levels, analyzing channel utilization, and manually tuning wireless settings when automatic channel selection is insufficient
  • Experience working with Ubiquiti UniFi switching environments
  • Industry certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and/or CompTIA Network+
  • WatchGuard Fireware Essentials certification or equivalent firewall platform certification

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex network issues, including firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, VLANs, and firewall policy configurations
  • Perform proactive preventative maintenance, review network and security reports, and identify, recommend, or implement corrective actions for systems that fall outside established standards
  • Collaborate with Professional Services teams to configure and prepare network hardware for deployment, including coordinating with warehouse resources when needed
