About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Network Engineer to help support the JSP ETM-NG program at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in driving the success of multiple concurrent efforts. This role requires full-time onsite support due to the nature of the work, and the selected candidate will support a MID Shift: Tuesday - Saturday (10:00PM - 6:30AM).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree. An additional 4 years of experience may be substituted in leu of degree.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Active Top Secret required with the ability to obtain SCI.
  • Current IAT Level II certification required.
  • Must possess a current Networking Certification to include Brocade, Cisco (CCNA/CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA/JNCIS/JNCIP), or Aruba or be willing to obtain a Networking Certification.
  • Hands-on experience/knowledge with Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, or Aruba networking systems required.
  • US Citizenship Required

Responsibilities

  • Designs, plans, and builds communications networks.
  • Configure routers and switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols.
  • Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
  • Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
  • Plans for implementation of enhancements.
  • Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
  • Maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability.
  • Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
  • Creates plans and configure systems for data communication networks.
  • Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
  • Designs and builds the hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
