About The Position

JCS Solutions LLC is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to lead the design and development of enterprise-wide networking infrastructure across campus (CAN), metropolitan (MAN), and wide area (WAN) environments. This role is responsible for establishing network requirements and designing scalable, secure architectures that integrate hardware, software, and communications systems to meet current and future business needs. The ideal candidate ensures compliance with open systems standards and frameworks, including OSI, ISO, and IEEE models, while supporting seamless integration across application interfaces and external environments. Responsibilities include analyzing network performance, workflows, and utilization to identify issues and implement effective solutions, as well as ensuring the network/transport layers align with common operating environment standards. This position also provides leadership and daily direction to technical teams, ensuring efficient operations and continuous improvement of network infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in network engineering
  • Experience with enterprise-wide networking infrastructure (CAN, MAN, WAN)
  • Knowledge of OSI and ISO reference models
  • Experience with IEEE Open Systems Environment standards
  • Supervisory and team leadership experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience with DoD, DISA, or DES enterprise network infrastructure
  • Active Secret clearance required; Top Secret clearance strongly preferred
  • Ability to work on-site at Fort Belvoir, VA
  • CCIE, CCDE, CISSP, Linux+, Red Hat, or MCTS certification
  • Experience designing secure networks for classified defense environments
  • Familiarity with DoD network architecture standards and DISA requirements

Responsibilities

  • Establish network information requirements for enterprise infrastructure
  • Design CAN, MAN, and WAN architecture
  • Ensure network systems comply with OSI and ISO reference models
  • Ensure compliance with IEEE Open Systems Environment standards
  • Evaluate and resolve problems with workflows and network usage
  • Develop appropriate corrective action for network issues
  • Provide daily supervision and direction to staff
