I2X Technologies is seeking a Network Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Colorado Springs,CO . This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret clearance.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree with 7 years of professional experience
• Sec+ Certification required
• Hands-on experience designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure.
• Experience developing network architecture, detailed network diagrams, implementation plans, and configuration documentation.
• Demonstrated experience building and deploying network infrastructure from design through implementation, configuration, testing, and operational turnover.
• Hands-on experience configuring, troubleshooting, patching, and maintaining enterprise firewalls, including Palo Alto, Cisco, and/or Juniper platforms.
• Hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting RHEL/Linux systems, including system patching, package management, service management, log analysis, permissions, and basic networking.
• Experience with firewall policies, NAT, routing, VPNs, security zones, and access-control rules.
• Demonstrated experience applying DoD security hardening requirements to network infrastructure.
• Experience implementing, validating, and documenting DISA STIG requirements for network devices.
• Experience developing and executing patch/test plans, including rollback procedures and validation testing.
• Demonstrated ability to produce clear technical documentation, implementation procedures, configuration documentation, test plans, and troubleshooting guides.
• Experience troubleshooting network devices following software/firmware upgrades.
• Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, IPv4/IPv6, VLANs, routing, switching, DNS, DHCP, ARP, and subnetting.
• Experience troubleshooting network connectivity using packet captures and network diagnostic tools.
• GitLab exposure/experience
• Experience developing or modifying scripts to automate network administration, configuration management, validation, or operational tasks.
• Proficiency with at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• NAS management

Nice To Haves

• CCNA, Net+ CCNP, PCNSE certifications highly preferred

Responsibilities

• Designs and plans network communications systems.
• Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture.
• Provides specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Conducts testing of network design.
• Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
• Evaluates and reports on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
• Research vendor recommended quarterly patches for Network devices (Cisco Switch, Cisco firewall, Juniper firewall, Palo Alto firewall)
• Perform quarterly network patch integration and system testing in lab environment
• Update content in Gitlab for quarterly deliveries (Configurations, Licenses, IOS files)
• Write and edit quarterly network installation instructions for delivery to Operations
• Install quarterly network device patches in lab and Operational environments
• Create, update and provide justifications for network device cyber security STIG checklists
• Provide network support for Cyber Vulnerability Testing (Access, Connectivity and checklists)
• Track, acquire and install firewall license files
• Troubleshoot Operational and lab environments for network device outages and anomalies
• Provide training for network device installations and troubleshooting tasks
