The US base salary range for this full-time position is $154,000 - $181,000 + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Position reports to the Google (Sunnyvale, CA) office & may allow for a hybrid schedule per Google policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a Network Engineer-related occupation.
  • 3 years of experience in Large-scale network design, including capacity allocation and growth forecasting.
  • 3 years of experience in Network troubleshooting to resolve interruptions using established procedures and tools.
  • 3 years of experience in Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) for exchanging routing information between autonomous systems.
  • 3 years of experience in Designing technology-enabled automation to streamline network processes.
  • 3 years of experience in Writing readable and structured code in Python, C++, or Go for software development utilizing engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct quantifiable analysis of network data and capacity forecast models to enhance scalability, efficiency, and user experience.
  • Evaluate network system inefficiencies and flaws to design and implement improved software, designs, and processes. Develop software to improve the performance, security, transparency, and manageability of network systems.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex software, hardware, and other network system problems with minimal guidance.
  • Scale systems sustainably by creating tools and automation that improve system reliability and operational velocity.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to support multi-vendor, SDN-based wired and wireless networks.
