About The Position

Provides network support requiring system-level design and architecture, enterprise security and security boundaries, datacenter virtualization, CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure, packet-capture software, the TCP/IP protocol stack, routing/switching protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3/L4 access controls. This role involves physical installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of routers, switches, load balancers, and security devices. The position requires strong knowledge of TCP/IP and routing/switching protocols, as well as a strong working knowledge of L2/L3 protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3 access controls. A working knowledge of the Atlassian Tool Suite is also necessary. The role includes supporting on-call requirements and working in a live-call environment using Remedy or another ticketing system. Experience with VMware and Solaris-container virtualization products is also part of the requirements.

Requirements

  • Cisco IOS, CatOS, NxOS, filtering and access control, CiscoWorks, TACACS+, ASA, FWSM, HP OpenView, Cisco routers and switches, F5/Cisco load balancers, InfiniBand, Juniper, Fibre Channel SAN, and IPsec VPN.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and routing/switching protocols; strong working knowledge of L2/L3 protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3 access controls.
  • Working knowledge of the Atlassian Tool Suite.
  • VMware and Solaris-container virtualization products.
  • Three (3) years of demonstrable experience with a degree, or five (5) years without, in LAN network engineering, architecture, monitoring, security, and protection.
  • Datacenter network design and architecture experience, including installation and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPsec virtual private networks.
