About The Position

The Network Engineer will monitor, maintain, and support the health, availability, and reliability of the enterprise network environment, from local sites through cloud connectivity. This role involves day-to-day operational support of LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, firewall, and cloud network services, ensuring stable and secure connectivity across the enterprise. The engineer will proactively monitor network performance and stability, identify potential issues, and respond to alerts to prevent or minimize outages. This position serves as a primary responder for network incidents impacting multiple users or services (L2), providing troubleshooting, remediation, and coordination as needed. Participation in an on-call rotation is required for after-hours support. The role also supports enterprise network connectivity, including site-to-site tunnels, VPN solutions, and cloud service connections, and executes performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting across network-centric technologies. Additionally, the engineer will support operational vulnerability management for network infrastructure, including applying patches, performing configuration changes, and executing remediation activities. Participation in planned upgrades and lifecycle maintenance of network infrastructure components is also a key responsibility. Collaboration with engineering and architecture teams by operationalizing designs, integrating new capabilities, and providing feedback based on operational experience is expected. The engineer will act as a first line of operational defense for network outages, escalating to engineering teams as appropriate for large-scale or complex issues, and maintain awareness of network status, changes, and risks across the environment. This role contributes to keeping the “lights on” by reliably handling routine maintenance and operational tasks, enabling senior engineers to focus on observability, automation, and platform improvements.
