About The Position

The Network Engineer is a professional engineering role responsible for independently configuring, managing, and supporting enterprise networking infrastructure across a diverse and distributed environment of approximately 80 sites. This role is accountable for the reliable and secure operation of Cisco and Fortinet routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as Azure networking components. The Network Engineer exercises independent judgment to troubleshoot complex issues, implement network changes, and optimize performance while ensuring adherence to industry best practices and organizational standards. The position involves advanced troubleshooting of incidents, collaboration with senior engineers on projects, and direct contribution to enterprise initiatives such as site deployments, upgrades, and integration of cloud services. The Network Engineer maintains accurate documentation, participates in incident response and post-incident reviews, and contributes recommendations for improving network security, scalability, and reliability.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience configuring and supporting enterprise networking equipment.
  • Proficiency in Cisco IOS configuration and Fortinet firewall administration.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and switching/routing technologies.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex issues using logs, packet captures, and monitoring tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently on medium-to-large scale network projects.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to clearly explain technical concepts to peers and stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as CCNA, Fortinet NSE 4, or equivalent are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently configure, deploy, and manage routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure stable and secure LAN/WAN connectivity across corporate, branch, and plant sites.
  • Implement and maintain VPNs, VLANs, and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP to support enterprise connectivity and secure remote access.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network incidents using packet analysis, log interpretation, and monitoring tools; escalate only the most advanced issues.
  • Participate in deployments and upgrades for new network sites, including planning, cabling, rack installation, and configuration of devices.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on architectural projects, including Azure cloud networking integration and site expansion initiatives.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration baselines for compliance and operational continuity.
  • Contribute to post-incident reviews, identifying preventive measures and recommending improvements to processes and procedures.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, pursuing certifications and keeping current with evolving network technologies.
