About The Position

As a growing Department of Defense Contractor, AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting NEW opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members in the Point Loma area of San Diego. Support operations of the Triton MQ-4C UAS to plan and engineer, as well as support the implementation and design of network architectures/infrastructures. Use concepts, best practices and concepts related to networking hardware/software, to include LAN, WAN and architectures. Develop network designs, network test plans/reports and use advanced troubleshooting skills for enterprise trouble tickets.

Requirements

  • Secret clearance required with potential for TS/SCI in the future.
  • Current Security+ CE and (CCNP or CCNA + relevant years' experience).
  • Bachelor’s degree + 5 years’ experience or high school diploma + 9 years’ experience required.
  • Expertise with Cisco routers and switches.
  • Expertise with Quality-of-Service DSCP marking traffic queue prioritization.
  • Expertise with OSPF & BGP routing protocols.
  • Expertise with Dynamic mGRE tunnels (DMVPN).
  • Expertise with VRF.
  • Expertise with MPLS/VPLS.
  • Expertise with Q-in-Q VLANs.
  • Expertise with Wireshark packet capture analysis.
  • Expertise with network monitoring tools similar to What’s Up Gold, Cisco ThousandEyes or equivalent.
  • Experience in design work, design documentation and test execution in support of a design.
  • Proficiency in using network monitoring and management tools.
  • Able to clearly document and deliver technical reports to senior leadership.
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills required.
  • On-site requirement in the lab, 0700 – 1630 Mon-Thursday and working Fridays 0700-1530.
  • CMS level 2 user for opening/closing the lab.
  • Some travel is required. Up to 10%.
  • Successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Optional containerization, network orchestration, SDN / SDWAN, Docker, virtualization a plus.
  • Familiarity with Navy Defense Research Evaluation Network (DREN) or Navy shore networks like Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) a plus.
