Network Engineer
About The Position
Our client, a large healthcare organization with multiple hospitals, clinics, and medical schools, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join their IT infrastructure team. This role focuses on core route/switch technologies, particularly within datacenter, wireless, and core networking. The team operates on a plan, build, run model, with this position serving as an engineering and escalation point. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the network infrastructure and WAN connectivity for hospitals and clinics, including new installations, equipment repair/replacement, circuit troubleshooting, escalated ticket resolution, and onsite support. The organization is actively involved in building a hybrid cloud environment, enhancing ACI/automation, and is committed to innovation for patient care. Requirements
- Experience with core route/switch technologies.
- Experience with layer 2 and layer 3 troubleshooting.
- Experience with spanning tree loops and DNVPN (Dynamic Multipoint VPN).
- Exposure to NxOs and ability to create NxOs configurations.
- Experience with Palo Alto firewalls.
- Experience with NetScaler.
- Self-driven work ethic and a desire for continuous learning and career growth.
- Active CCNP certification.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Nexus 2k, 5k, 6k, 7k, 9k.
- Exposure to Wifi 7.
- Experience with ISE, including log analysis.
Responsibilities
- Focus on core route/switch technologies within datacenter, wireless, and core networking.
- Perform layer 2 and layer 3 troubleshooting.
- Work on network projects, including planning, implementation, and execution.
- Support new equipment installations and repair/replace existing equipment.
- Troubleshoot circuits and resolve escalated tickets.
- Provide onsite wired and wireless troubleshooting for customers.
- Support network maintenance efforts, including after-hours work.
- Support new projects as needed.
- Contribute to the organization's hybrid cloud build-out and ACI/automation strategy.
- Participate in on-call rotation every other week.
