The Network Engineer Plans, designs, and evaluates new and existing computer network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support. The Network Engineer provides enhancements, maintenance, and operational duties on the network. This role involves working both alone and with a team to maintain connectivity with remote locations and ensure proper operation of remote systems. The engineer will also serve as a tier 2 and 3 escalation point for network tickets, offering guidance to the help desk and junior network team members. Key responsibilities include configuring and maintaining corporate firewalls, monitoring network alerts, and ensuring enterprise-wide network security through Access-Lists, Firewalls, and IDS/IPS. The position also requires maintaining and troubleshooting enterprise wireless and wired networks, light Windows/Linux server troubleshooting, and maintaining enterprise QoS policies. The role includes participating in an on-call rotation and building/maintaining documentation, guides, and diagrams for the IT department.
