GDIT seeks a Network Engineer SME to support U.S. Pacific Command (USPACOM) J6 engineering, modernization, and sustainment. The role contributes to Mission Partner Environment (MPE) engineering planning and development, strengthening secure, resilient, interoperable mission capabilities for U.S. forces and mission partners throughout the Pacific region. The position partners directly with government stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineers to translate operational priorities into executable technical outcomes. The Network Engineer SME serves as a senior technical authority for enterprise and MPE network architectures that support theater-wide resilient connectivity and mission partner operations. The role develops detailed LAN/WAN routing, switching, segmentation, redundancy, quality-of-service, and secure enclave connectivity designs, and maintains network diagrams and implementation packages. It analyzes current-state networks and develops phased modernization and legacy divestiture plans, including migration dependencies, rollback, acceptance criteria, and sustainment handoff. The engineer also diagnoses complex interoperability, routing, transport, and performance issues across geographically distributed sites and multiple engineering stakeholders, and evaluates network security architectures while coordinating approved boundary protection, Zero Trust segmentation, and mission partner access requirements with cyber authorities. This is an onsite position at Camp Smith, Hawaii, with no travel required. The position requires an active Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship. GDIT describes full-flex work weeks where eligible and approved, and offers benefits and professional growth opportunities.
