About The Position

The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) Defense Stockpile Management Systems (DSMS) support is searching for a Sr. Network Engineer to join their team in Fort. Belvoir, VA. The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and security of enterprise LAN/WAN environments. This role ensures strict adherence to Department of War (DoW) cybersecurity and configuration-management standards, providing critical technical leadership, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and continuous monitoring for mission-critical networks.

Requirements

  • 7 + years of related experience
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • US Citizenship Required: Yes
  • Clearance Level Must Currently Possess: Secret
  • Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Top Secret
  • CompTIA Security+ (Required for DoW 8570/8140 compliance)

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain multi-vendor routing/switching platforms (Cisco), VPN concentrators, and F5 load balancers.
  • Design and implement network topologies, managing complex routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and MPLS.
  • Apply DoW STIG/SRG requirements to all network devices to maintain IAVA/IAVM compliance.
  • Perform verification across HBSS modules and utilize enterprise automation tools to deploy secure baselines.
  • Responsible for ensuring 99.7% network uptime across critical and strategic enclaves, driving cybersecurity compliance through rigorous STIG/IAVA applications, and leading Network engineering initiatives during complex migrations, hardware refreshes, and network outages.
  • Design, plan, and execute enterprise network migrations, topology updates, and hardware refreshes (Cisco, Palo Alto, etc).
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive network diagrams, rack elevations, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Monitors the network utilizing industry leading technologies.
  • Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process.
  • Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements.
  • Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks.
