About The Position

Emergent Technologies Inc., a veteran-owned IT and engineering services firm based in Herndon, VA, is seeking a skilled Network Engineer with at least six years of experience in network architecture, deployment, and support. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity to contribute to innovative, mission-driven technology solutions across government and enterprise environments.

Requirements

Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in network engineering, design, and operations
Hands-on experience and proficiency in network architecture, design, and implementation for enterprise or large-scale environments
Proficiency in core network technologies: Routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, ISIS), Switching protocols (STP, LACP, VTP)
Experience with network automation and scripting for configuration and management
Experience with cloud networking environments, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience with software-defined networking (SD-WAN) solutions
Knowledge of deploying and supporting MPLS networks
Strong analytical skills

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
Experience with network design and operations in large-scale, multi-site environments
History of improving network performance, reliability, and scalability
Willingness to embrace and adopt emerging technologies and tools

Responsibilities

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
Produce technical documentation, including design diagrams, implementation plans, and operational procedures
Present technical designs to review boards and leadership teams
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues
Learn and implement new technologies independently
