About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Network Engineer Senior to support the Space Force Range Contract (SFRC). Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Amentum Information Technology (IT) network computing environment by identifying network requirements; designing changes; installing upgrades; and monitoring network performance. Provide leadership and guidance to IT personnel to include mentoring, development and training. Serve as subject matter expert and configures and supports the IT Network environment consisting of servers, clients, routers, virtual private networks, switches, and firewall devices. Systematically troubleshoot technical issues and/or complex application, system, and/or network issues including availability, utilization, throughput and latency Plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment Define IT policies and procedures Provide feedback and reports to management on the status and availability of the IT network to ensure proper function and identify positive and negative trends Maintain IT network performance by performing network monitoring and analysis, and performance tuning. Analyze IT systems and prepare supporting documentation for performance, stability, interoperability and systems thru the system life cycle issues. Apply methods and techniques to assist in the development, implementation and documentation of impact assessments, architecture change recommendations and CONOPS change recommendations. Secure IT network by developing network access, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation IAW DoD standards. Participate in the design and development of integrated solutions to meet customer requirements Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Effective communication skills with demonstrated capability to brief project information to management and customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation and testing of network equipment and infrastructure.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to balance, plan, prioritize, and execute projects.
  • Ability to work within a dynamic, fast paced environment with time constraints.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in related computer science or IT field
  • Knowledge of Internet Protocols, communication protocols, data and network security
  • Experience working with IT system design principles and applications
  • Experience required in the following areas: Cisco licensing for network security appliances Network monitoring and reporting Windows Based and PowerShell scripting DISA STIGs and NOTAMS CMMC Level 2 Windows and SQL Server Network technologies Wireless implementation and maintenance
  • Current CISSP or Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) or be able to obtain within six (6) months of hire date
  • Travel of 25% may be required.
  • The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License
