About The Position

TekSynap is seeking a Corporate Enterprise Network (WAN): Network Engineer - Senior to join our government project supporting Defense Logistics Agency. This position is in support of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). DLA is an agency of the Department of Defense. DLA Information Operations, Enterprise Infrastructure Services (EIS), Information Operations Enterprise Enclave (IOEE), Information Operations Secure Enterprise Enclave (IOSEE) located enterprise wide at multiple DLA locations. This position is intended to support the Enterprise Telecommunications Network and Cloud functions by exercising skills and expertise in telecom engineering and operational support of current and new technologies. Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance. Must possess a High Risk, Critical Sensitive, Tier 5/SSBI investigation.
  • Five (5) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience including at least two projects in the following technical areas: Network Management (Local Area Network (LAN)/ Wide Area Network (WAN)) - Updated/changed configuration files, provided support doing refresh of hardware and firmware, researched and applied compliance requirements (Patch Management). Involved in preventive and corrective measures and complied with configuration management documentation. Evaluated new network sites, services, and products.
  • Service Desk Support - Provided real-time monitoring of DLA's WAN (Both classified and unclassified) using state-of-the-art network monitoring and management tools. Responded to anomalies depicted by automated network alerts, and conducting initial triage to resolve errors within the network infrastructure to ensure continuous operations.
  • Active DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: Category IAT Level III.
  • Computing Environment Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional Enterprise (CCNP-E).
  • Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher certification.

  • Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) certification is preferred over CCSA.
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals.
  • CompTIA Cloud+.

Responsibilities

  • Works under general supervision, developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion.
  • Develops required specifications for simple to moderately complex problems.
  • The current and anticipated network equipment for which the vendor must have expertise includes a COTS 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN and associated software and hardware equipment.
  • The network consists of a corporate, campus-wide CISCO LAN plant with Gigabit switching and routing to internal servers and external networks.
  • DLA J6 owns the Corporate Network and the underground cable.
  • Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
