About The Position

RingCentral is seeking a Network Engineer for their NetOPS Infrastructure team. This role involves managing and maintaining production infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers across global data centers. The team is responsible for ensuring 99.999% availability for real-time voice, video, and messaging services. The NetOPS Infra team is distributed across the US, EU, and India, operating on a follow-the-sun model with standard business hours, five days a week. Occasional weekend work may be required for planned maintenance.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience running production networks (ISP, enterprise, or data center).
  • In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, including BGP path selection and packet capture analysis.
  • Practical experience with routing and switching protocols: OSPF, iBGP/eBGP, VRFs, PBR, STP/RSTP, VRRP, link aggregation.
  • Experience with tunneling technologies: GRE, IPIP, IPSec.
  • Proficiency with firewalls, including vendor platforms and iptables/firewall.
  • Strong Linux skills, particularly with the network stack (interfaces, routing tables, netfilter, socket state, tcpdump).
  • Understanding of server-side context (bare metal, hypervisors, containers).
  • Hands-on experience with Juniper routing, switching, and security platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot production issues end to end, from routing tables and firewall policies to the Linux network stack on the host.
  • Handle operational tasks such as firewall access changes, patching, configuration reviews, and capacity checks to maintain high availability.
  • Deliver infrastructure projects including hardware refreshes, platform migrations, and new data center capacity.
  • Collaborate directly with platform and application teams.
  • Support Lab, Stage, and Regression environments alongside production.
