About The Position
Are you passionate about networking and eager to grow your skills in enterprise and tactical network environments? We are seeking an experience d Network Engineer to join our team in supporting the Department of War ( DoW ) by assisting in the design, implementation, and maintenance of critical network infrastructure. In this role, you’ll collaborate with experience d engineers to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure secure and scalable network operations across enterprise and tactical environments. Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in IT or networking roles
- Experience with networking tools such as Wireshark or SolarWinds
- Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP / IP, DHCP, ARP, HTTP, and SNMP
- Knowledge of routing and switching technologies
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
- Ability to create and interpret basic network diagrams and documentation
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Secret clearance
- HS diploma or GED
- IAT Level 1 certification
Nice To Haves
- Experience with wireless networking technologies or tools, such as Aruba or Cisco wireless
- Experience with automation, such as Python or Ansible
- Experience with firewalls, such as Palo Alto or Fortinet
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies
- Knowledge of cloud networking environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of scripting
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
- CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or CompTIA Security+ Certification s
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and data center connectivity
- Participate in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of wireless LANs, controllers, and access points.
- Support the analysis of packet data using tools like Wireshark and work on network health assessments and performance tuning
- C ond uct and document cybersecurity vulnerability scans to help ensure compliance with DoW standards
- Develop and maintain basic documentation, network diagrams, and technical designs under the guidance of senior engineers
- Provide first-line support to troubleshoot and resolve network issues across enterprise and tactical environments
- Learn and implement DoW cybersecurity compliance standards and Security Technical Implementation Guides ( STIGs )
